-
What is a quote?
A quote shows your customer the work, price and terms you are offering. It can also include the scope of the work and a date for your customer to respond.
-
What should I include in a quote?
Include your business and customer details, the quote number and date, and the products or services you are offering. Add quantities, descriptions, prices, taxes or discounts when they apply. Include the scope, terms and a valid-until date when they matter to the offer.
-
How do I create a quote in Docelf?
Add your customer, then enter the products or services, quantities and prices. Add taxes, discounts, terms or a response deadline when they apply. Docelf calculates the totals. Review the quote, then email it, print it or download a PDF.
-
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote shows a specific offer, including the price, scope, terms and how long the offer is valid. An estimate shows the work you expect to do and the likely cost before the job begins.
-
Can my customer accept or decline a quote online?
Yes. When you email a quote from Docelf, your customer can accept or decline it online. Docelf updates the quote status and emails you when your customer responds.
-
Can I see if my customer opened the quote?
Yes. The document history shows when the quote was delivered and when your customer opened it. You can check the document history instead of wondering whether your customer saw it.
-
What happens after my customer accepts the quote?
You can create an invoice from the quote in Docelf. Docelf copies the relevant customer, item, price and document details into the new invoice, so you do not have to enter them again.
