How to Fill In Carpet Cleaning Estimate Line Items
Use a description that names the area and the service. A room price works when you define the size it covers; stairs and halls can have their own units. List only the treatments selected for this estimate in the total.
This fictional home visit uses room pricing in US dollars: three rooms up to 200 square feet each, one 40-square-foot hall and 12 stairs. The prices include hot-water extraction and routine spot treatment. All three lines use an illustrative 8% tax; apply the tax treatment required for your service.

What to Include in Carpet Cleaning Estimate Terms
Terms and Conditions explain what the service price assumes. Use this field for the areas covered, furniture arrangements, treatment limits and how you will confirm changes after inspecting the carpet.
Keep only conditions your business actually uses. This sample goes with the room, hallway and stair cleaning above; adjust the sizes and included service for your own job.
Example: Terms and Conditions
- Estimate covers three rooms up to 200 sq ft each, one 40 sq ft hallway and 12 stair treads. Valid for 30 days from the estimate date.
- Hot-water extraction and routine spot treatment are included. Pricing assumes normal household soil and clear access to the carpet; the customer will move furniture before the visit.
- Pet odor treatment, carpet protector and upholstery cleaning are excluded. Additional work will be priced for approval after inspection and before cleaning begins.
- Permanent stain removal is not guaranteed. Payment is due after the cleaning is completed.
What to Include in a Carpet Cleaning Estimate
Make it clear which carpeted areas and treatments are part of the service and which are optional.
Rooms, area, and stairs
List each room, hallway, stair or other pricing unit. Note residential or commercial areas separately when the service or rate differs.
Cleaning method and normal service
Name the planned method and the standard work included, such as pre-vacuuming, cleaning, rinsing or another service step you sell.
Condition, treatments, and furniture
Record heavy soil, spots, odors, pet treatment, protector, furniture moving or other work that changes the expected time or price.
Price, minimums, and terms
Explain your pricing unit and any minimum visit price. Show applicable tax and the expected total, with service assumptions in Terms and Conditions.
