How to Fill In Repair Estimate Line Items
A repair description should tell the customer what the charge achieves. Name the replacement part, use hours for estimated labor, and list diagnosis separately when it has its own charge.
This fictional US-dollar example is for a bench drill that will not start. Inspection points to a faulty switch. The diagnostic charge remains part of the total, and repair labor includes fitting the switch and testing the drill. The illustrative 8% tax applies only to the $65.00 part; use the tax treatment required for your work.

What to Include in Repair Estimate Terms
