Keep the Payment With the Right Piece

The title or reference and artist's name help the buyer recognize the piece later. Add the medium and size for an original painting, or the edition number for a limited-edition print. A short description works well for pottery or handmade furniture.

Record a Commission Deposit Before Collection

A buyer may pay before a commissioned piece is ready. Describe that receipt as a commission deposit and use the commission reference. That makes the payment clear without suggesting the finished artwork has been handed over.

In a separate example, a $900.00 commission total includes any tax. A $300.00 deposit leaves $600.00 to pay. The deposit receipt confirms the $300.00 received, not the full commission price.

When the buyer pays the balance, the next receipt shows $600.00 received, $300.00 previously paid, and $0.00 remaining. Each receipt records its own payment toward the same commission.

Share Care Instructions With the Buyer

A care sheet keeps your handling and display advice with the payment record. A small artwork photo can also help the buyer identify the piece, especially when the order includes several items.

You can attach a care sheet or small artwork image to the receipt in Docelf. It accepts PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG, and WebP files up to 5 MB each. Use your agreed delivery method for large original digital-art files.

Send a Copy the Buyer Can Find Later

Email the receipt from Docelf, print it for collection, or save a PDF. When you email it, Docelf's history shows when it was delivered and opened. Keep the receipt with the sale or commission record so you can find the payment by its artwork title or receipt number.
