What to Include on a Property & Service Estimate

Property service estimates should make the expected work easy to understand. Your customer should be able to see what areas or services you included, how often you expect to perform the work, and what may cause the final price to change.

Most professional estimates should include:

Docelf helps you create a professional estimate, download it as a PDF, print it, or email it to your customer. You can also see when your customer opens the estimate and turn it into an invoice without entering the same information again.

How to Create a Property Service Estimate

Start with the property and the work your customer wants completed. Describe the included services clearly, especially when the price depends on property size, condition, frequency, access, or the amount of material or labor required.

Break the estimate into useful line items. For recurring services, show the expected frequency or price per visit when that helps your customer compare options. For one-time projects, include the labor, materials, equipment, hauling, or treatment costs you expect.

Add assumptions for anything you have not verified yet. This gives your customer a clearer estimate and gives you a reference point if the actual property conditions or requested scope change.

An estimate is usually a good-faith prediction rather than a guaranteed final price. Tell your customer when you expect a meaningful change and update the document or get approval for added work when needed.
